so i was drivin home on the freeway (238 to 880) and some guy in a silver CTS was tryin to get me to race him, i wasnt all for it untill he took off and flashed his hazards at me me like he had accomplished something. i just couldnt le that go so i caught up to him and this time we BOTH went for it! I noteced a mustang gt in front pull into the emergency centerlane and i slowed a little but kept goin..... all of the sudden .......i noticed a large round object (a garbage can to be exact) commin straight at me ....in my lane!!!! i couldnt stop so i did my best to swerve out of the way while avoiding what little traffic there is at two in the morning. long story short...... i swerved good enough to keep controll and just barely nick the damn thing ....it left a couple minor scratcheson the front right fendor at the bottom by the door, and a load in my pants...but i raped the CTS!!!! YAY............

Who the hell puts a big a$$ garbage can in the middle of the freeway????!!!?!?!?!?!?!

 

So, let me check I have all the facts - while you were full-on street racing, the only thing in the road was a full sized garbage can, but you still managed to hit it.

I don't suppose it dawns on you that you're lucky it wasn't a pedestrian, since you were TOTALLY out of control of your car.

This will be your warning, further racing stories will get you banned.

you don't want to glamorize something that one, is illegal, and two might get someone killed.

let me just say this, take it to the track Sometimes, you just have to let things slide.. street racing is a no no, just tell that person, lets take it to the track and then if they say no, then you know they suck at driving

ya i know it was a pretty stupid thing to do but i always let it slide and end up getting crap from people. all you guys act like youve never were speeding on the freeway. im not sayin what i did was right but lets get serious every single one of you have gone over the speed limit at one point or another.

This forum thinks that if they don't let members to talk about street racing, then it wont happen.

Anyway, next time you race a CTS and get your *** handed to you because you didn't notice it was a V series.....i'm gonna laugh.

ya i know. the point of the post wasnt to talk about street racing.... it just so happenned that right after i dodged ....well attempted to dodge, the garbage can that that is what happened. i dunno i think its is a little hypocritical of anyone to bag on whomever, for speeding/racing, i personally dont "race" mainly because the 8 isnt all that fast in a straight line. i have the car because a: i love rotaries, and B: it is an extremely fun and nice looking car. anyways i was put in my place i guess and next time if something should happen ill just leave out the minor details.
