Wondering if anyone has a code scanner who can help me check my CEL. I'm in the SGV and usually get home from work around 8-ish M-F. Let me know and I can come to you. Thanks in advance!

 

any auto parts store will read it for you for free. Typically.

 

Ebay code reader + resetter = $70

Can you name ANY other mod for that price that can save you a 'metric buttload' of cash?

 

Called a few places and they don't do it for free in california anymore. Also, i'm sure this is hong to be something i'm only going to use once if not very infrequently so I'd rather not spend 70 and have out sit around my garage.

 

Why not post in the NorCal or SoCal social threads and see if someone will do it for you?

whaaat...they charge you to read a code at autozone/advance/pep boys/whatever? That sucks.

they are no longer allowed to rent the OBD II scanner to you or allow you to pull the code but most stores will do it for you.

I'm sure you'll use it more then once and it is worth it's weight in gold.
keep in mind if you go to the dealership to get that code read, you're down almost $100.
