Take the Dumb test

At first flash of Eden
We race down to the sea
Standing there on freedom's shore

Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun

Can you feel it
Now that Spring has come
That it's time to live in the scattered sun

Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun.
Waiting for the sun
Waiting,, waiting,, waiting,, waiting, waiting,, waiting,, waiting,, waiting

Waiting for you to come along
Waiting for you to hear my song
Waiting for you to come along
Waiting for you to tell me what went wrong

This is the strangest life I've ever known

Can you feel it
Now that Spring has come
That it's time to live in the scattered sun.

Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun

Ok. It's time to drop cash on some new tires. I've been spending money like it's going out of style lately so may as well get them before I'm broke.

I've talked to a couple places. One reccomended Falken RT615's at 245/40/18

I've been looking into Khumos and yokohama's but I'm really ******* clueless about this. I just want something that will grip as well or better then stocks, and I don't want to spend more then 150 bucks a tire.

I've gone the Kumho ECSTA SPT route after replacing my stocks. They are cheap and handle decently. Definitely quieter than the Bridgestones. Wear Rating is only 320.

The 615's are nice but if you want something that handles awesome and also can handle well in wet weather I strongly recommend Falken FK452's, www.vulcantire.com, get the 245/40's, you wont regret it.

oh. those do look nice. A lot more treadware life on them. Why don't I want them in 225/45? Everything I've read about wider tires (on the same sized rim) says that it makes your handling and road noise worse.

There may be some truth to the road noise, but usually that is due to the actual manufacturing quality of the rubber and the style of the tread pattern more than actual tire size.

As for the handling, that is totally false, especially so in this case, mazda put undersized tires on these cars for who knows what reason, cost savings, fuel economy, weight, all of which are minute changes, you wont see any noticeable decrease in fuel mileage. You will, however, experience a drastic increase in handling and performance.

The OEM dunlops and bridgestones are total crap, they don't grip, side wall rigidity is marginal, tread pattern sucks for any kind of performance cornering, they are marginal for even an every day tire.

The falkens are a much more superior tire, especially for the money, and I did run these falkens in the 245/45 trim, although I recommend the shorter 40 sidewall, from new to completely worn. I thought they were excellent tires and took to my excessive abuse with no issue. Lots of grip, excellent in the rain, tread wear was very even with good life , I only experienced noticeable road noise when they were in the last two weeks of having them.

I think I want to buy a base radio unit from someone so I can end my differential signal Bose nightmare.

Anyone here have a base radio they're no longer using I could buy/trade?

Thanks Leo, no gun shopping yet. I'm going to have to make do with my left and right The car seat's actually on the wife's ms3. I'll let you know if I feel anything on the butt dyno once I put it in the 8, that way you can get your own mod

Socket, 18 years? nah, We'll be back sooner than that..

Gratz Ever! If you ever need anything just hit me up. I'm well versed in the fun and excitement that is a newborn

I'm sure you've heard this before but it's the advice I give all new parents. "You can never have enough baby wipes" When my son was under 3 years old I kept wipes in every room and every car... thank you costco! Now that he's almost 6 I'm able to get by with just the little packages of handi wipes in the center compartment of the 8, at home he can just wash his hands and face.
