I'm not FI'ing a daily driver.

That's just not worth it. The amount of maintenance you're going to have to deal with is staggering.

If I ever get rich enough to afford a dedicated track car, then yea, I'll FI the **** out of that. So what if a track car breaks down? You miss an event or two, no biggie, there's no huge rush to get it up and running again.

Oh yea, Matt, did RP say anything about why his SS crapped out on you? I'm kinda curious. I had the same exact thing happen to me when I was using the voodoo **** as well. Don't know if that shift **** just happens to make the shifter rub the wrong way or what.

But for future info, Paul over at Rotorsport now has those little bushings in stock in case anybody's ever breaks.

Isn't a "belt driven turbo" known as a supercharger?

I realize now that I had a few warning signs it was failing. The shifter was "spongier" out of gear and the throws had become just a bit longer.

If I ever feel that again I'll be taking the SS out to inspect it.

If they released it a few years back, it would be worth it. But since the 8 is 5 years old now, we all know that there is very little power left to tap, I'm with Rob and FI'ing the damn car! Mazdatrix belt driven turbo, ROB!
Only thing I don't like about the RB flash is that "one size fits all" concept doesn't work on this car. Also RB is not known for adding max power. They just give you as much as possible, while maintaining a large safe zone. At least with the AP, you can have Jeff pretty much customize it to your mods, and run it as aggressively as YOU choose.

I've been the FI route, and although I have been debating whether to go back lately, I just don't think its worth it on this car. There are just TOO many supporting mods that you need for this car to run reliably as a D.D., that its hard to justify in the long run.

Which FI route did you take? What didn't you like about it besides the reliability factors?

GReddy, full turboxs exhaust. It was fine before the exhaust, but after I put it on, the car has so much torque, things start to break down. I think as long as your torque is under 250, you will probably be fine. I didn't drive the car enough to justify the risk.

Give me a call, I'll be down to meet up with you. I'll be downfor sure 4/3-4/6, I might be catching a ride with Matt this weekend as well.

That is true, but how much more power could be brought out being only NA. There has to be someone out there who did try to squeeze out as much power as possible and found out that it's not fesible to manufactor something only for the 8. My friend is getting the AP for his STI, and he'll get like 30-40 hp&tq. I see that being worth the $700.

Too bad we can't get that, because that's all I really want.

It's too far and they are way to partial to their "Tracy" meets.

So If I'm to install FI, what else should I update?

1) Radiators?
2) LSDs?
3) Braking system

Radiator, CLUTCH, ignition, TUNING, gauges (wideband, boost, oil pressure, egt, oil temp, water temp), boost controller, oil catch can, tires (need to be able to get the power to the ground), suspension (need to be able to controll the power), bov, new silicon couplings (the one supplied by greddy suck ***). Those are all that I can think of off the top of my head. If Robin sees this, he may be able to add more.

Bitching is my specialty. I'm just a little ****.

Today just sucked. Had to jump the RX8 in the morning. Found out I had to go to Berkeley to fix a tool at the University, then I scraped the bottom of the RX8 at the parking garage across Cory Hall. I can't see any damage, but I'll have Paul check it out Friday.
