it was a drive for me as well. I'm at Central and Bell
They split us up so we never got to race head-to-head. Me and Erick did, tho.
And there was this one girl who was taking the last hairpin flatout. She had some ***** and/or her kart had some serious traction. And this one guy apparently had the turbocharged gokart because he was at least 60lbs heavier than Jeff but he would pass him on the straights! He had a good kart.
My karts front end pushed all over the place. Even with my *stragetically placed ballast* the rearend of my kart was squrilley. And I had no brakes, and was sitting ON TOP of the seat! It would fun if they had a larger framed kart.
Anytime you old farts want to go road race some crotch rockets, I'm game. The outcome may be different then

Abbid, I am open to caravaning down there!
It doesn't matter if you have brakes or not, if you use them, they flag you for riding the brakes!
It would be nice to prep the cars a little before using them. It is pretty obvious some are better than others. I want to take the tires out and leave them in the sun for a while. Or maybe a hand torch would warm then up a little.
Maybe hiding a little NOS under your armpit is a good idea too... just enough to get a good launch out of a corner.

It's always good! (Albeit occasionally frustrating) Nothing like legally being able to flog the **** out of a vehicle
Anyone thinking about heading out to the next Solo Event at FIR? (9/16/07)

Been putting around scenic Smithfield, Utah for the last 4 days. Only low 90's here and low 60's at night.
The altitude is playing with my mind as it has dropped the idle vacuum (as reported on my E-01) into the 40 kPa range. Normal is nearly 60 kPa. There is a 4 in/Hg difference between Phoenix and Logan/Smithfield and that should account for the 20 kPa difference. I spend almost all of my time in boost around the hills. Car is running fine, but I ran out of Idemitsu, so I will have to use Chevron 2-cycle for the trip home. I didn't think the trip around the Grand and Bryce canyons was going to eat so much gas, but it did amount to 17 hours of driving.
The trip home tomorrow should only be 11 or 12 hours. Over 1700 miles on the car in less than a week. I haven't driven that much since I moved to Phoenix from DC and put 2700 miles on in 37 hours.

Wishing you both safe travels back home (Easy & Maniac). Nice temps Easy; it's a mere 113 here today. WTF!
Chops - do you have to have experience or anything to go to that event? I always worry about getting cone smudge marks on my car. I've never tracked it...

Hope you made it back in one piece, Jeff. I need a vacation soon, too. Hopefully I can make SSX.
Chevron 2-stroke, say it ain't so!!
we had a pretty productive mod meeton Saturday at Tonys. Two sets of springs, one on an 8 and an a 6, Scotts rad, Karls short shifter (well, he did himself in 4 seconds), and Todd changed his oil.
I think we set a record for doing springs on a 6- only 30 minuets. We were flyin'
I haven't done anything to my car in a while now- I'm itching to buy something.
Jeff- you'll help me install the Mazsport Type-3 kit, won't ya?

Yeah, I feel for you Eric. The Odyssey is in for a new transmission (talk about famous replacements, it's not just Mazda) and the wife will be driving the 8 through Friday.
I am grounded! Transportation free! Who knows what is happening to the 8! Ack!
At least she doesn't drive during rush hour...
