Charles we all even sat in your spot when things were winding down so I could chow down my YC's Mongolian BBQ after everyone was leaving LOL
Ti - yah I'm sick and tired of Ti 8's. If only I'd known. Course it is the best color for the 8 Seriously if only they'd had the Phantom Blue or Stormy Blue back in the day I'd have gotten that for sure.

Poolside, I know you like you Ti color, but those of us that might want the Phantom Blue or Stormy Blue in the future, will have to settle on the best option available, then: Winning Blue, of course!
Seriously, though, if I had to do it over again, I might have gotten yellow-"wink" to you, 09!

I am sorry too I did not make it, I ran well into 7:30 also with home stuff, and by then, I just couldn't leave. Ech.

SwtBlnde didn't make it either Or Joff (Jesse & Lynn w/the Red 8...anyhow know if she's fully recovered from her cycling injury?)
We did see a silver 3rd gen (I think it was 3rd gen?) with a V8. Sounded sexy as all get-out, but it was kinda like looking at the sun and saying it's dark out. It was just odd!

Another couple of shots.
The '8 wheels looked pretty good on the 3rd gen. For some reason I was surprised.
That V8 fits pretty darn close in the 3rd gen engine bay. You might want to keep an engine picker on hand!

It was indeed good to see everyone. We missed you Dave.
We also talked behind the backs of the folks that went to Tucson! We missed you, and hope you had a good time!
Charles, maybe your house will be completed faster in this market. Look forward to finally meeting you in person.

looks like a lot of 7's showed up!
The drift show was a lot of fun- AZMC won best car club at the show and another member won a VIP pass to the Tens Strip club in Tuscon which includes a Limo to and from the club and a $100 bar tab. Party!!!
There was a lot of 1st and 2nd gen RX-7's drifting, and of course a bunch of 240SX's and 350Z's. There was also this sweet red 240SX with a Chevy LS1 that was bad-***. And a guy in a Viper GTS Coupe that had no idea how to drift. The best drifter was probably this kid in a white early 80's RWD Toyota Camry- he has some skills. He mopped up the track with a $500 car.

Lynn is back to riding her bike every day. She just did Tortilla Flats this morning and is riding her bike to and from ASU from East Mesa (Power/McDowell) every other day for classes (in the 110 degF heat!)-- so yeah, shes recovered from the accident 100%.
On another note, I just put down a deposit for a Pettit Supercharger kit for my 8. They're currently sold out, but I got one reserved in their next production run arriving 2nd week of Sept. I've been working way to hard the last few months and need a new toy to keep me sane...

Indeed. One of the reasons I decided on the S/C is that it seems a cleaner and simpler install than the alternatives. I'm not quite sure yet what needs to happen for the install but am excited to learn and find out. Ideally, I could do the install myself but then I'd probably need help on the tuning. I did just order the E-Manage Ultimate on Jeff's suggestion, so maybe I can get a head start on understanding the details of that while N/A before the S/C kit arrives.
Honestly, I probably wasn't ready to purchase, but upon hearing from Pettit that their next production run woudn't be until December, I decided to jump on it. What was your impression of the install you did? Was it truly "bolt-on" or was there any fabrication/welding that had to happen? If theres any major fabrication involved, I think I would give up now and just reluctantly pay someone professional for installation.

I helped Charles install the S/C and we came up with this motto reguarding installation difficulty- "If you have to ask how hard it is to install, then you probably can't do it yourself". Kind of like the saying "if you have to ask how much it cost, you probably can't afford it." kinda thing
Now this isn't to sound harsh, but the S/C is anything but "bolt-in". The instructions are beyond vauge, and wiring "diagram" is a joke, and parts have to be modified. It is not an easy weekend DIY by any means.
Charles and I already belted out an S/C so I'm sure the Paradox tag-team could knock yours out much quicker than Phil's was done in, but he was also missing a lot of parts, too

Does anyone know a good place in PHX to get a reliable compression check done (one that will give me a slip with psi, rpm, and temperature instead of just "pass/fail")? I'd like to make sure my engine is still running strong before I go and void the warranty on it. Its only seen 17,000 miles, but its also been through 1.75 PHX summers. Charles, is your shop open in PHX yet such that I could stop by for this sometime?

Jesse -
Best bet is to meet up with me or Ray at some point and we can give you a pretty clear understanding of what is involved.
Most of our concerns about the Pettit kit stemmed from expectation rather than actual shortcomings in the design.
I think that all of the things that we didn't like about the system have been or can be addressed.
Come by the MazdaManiac/Paradox area at SSX and we can take a walk over to Pettit and give you an idea of what to expect.

Oh, well that sucks. But you're probably right about the asking how hard it is correlation to incompetence in installation! When I'm talking to my customers in my line of work I say the same thing. They often try to downplay the significance of their lack of skill and experience by exaggerating their patience and by putting too much faith in available books, documentation, and online mailing lists.

No Sir, not for RCCAZ anyhow. That was replaced with SS-X .
Thanks for the heads up; I'll edit my original post to confirm as cancelled instead of saying it might be cancelled. We weren't sure earlier in the year which month SS-X would take place so this was noted as a place holder if you will.
