I thought you were OK with the heat?

I'll tell you for sure: 116 in Phoenix is a hell of a lot more comfortable than 85 in Ashland Kentucky.

In your honor Ray, the wheather people have predicted 116 on the 4th of July.
Just for you.
So if they say 116 then you can expect something like 118/120.
Smokin!

Well, it looks like we aren't getting together until sundown, so it might be more tolerable by then.

I have to check my schedule. I don't normally work Sundays but I think I am covering for a co-worker that is covering a few days off for me the previous week. I'll let everyone know what's up in due time

I'm tenatively on the list. I kinda got canned at my job (note to self- don't bitch out boss and throw computer) so my schedule is kinda WIDE OPEN lol. Just the money issue, ya know? Let's start a "Chickenwafer can go go-karting fund" jar!! I'll make my best efforts to make it!

Edit: How big are these go-karts? Does anyone know if my 6' 7" 330 lbs frame can squeeze on of these buggers? Erick- how well do you fit??

Well, it's not that bad a fit for me. Height is not a problem but you have over 100lbs. on me. Might be to much for the little cart. I know you'll be slow with all that weight.
But hey I could be wrong. You could kick everybody's ***. Because you could have all kinds of traction in the corners with the added weight.

Can we do the Race earlier in the afternoon so I can bring the wife. I need to make arrangements for the kiddies and since there's work the next day I don't want to keep grandma up.

Question

Thought this might be something for us to do in October.

Desert Cruisers event to send "Packages from Home" to our troops.

http://www.desertcruisers.com/index....Events&id=1564

Checker Auto Parts present the 1st Classics on the Plaza Car Show at Westgate City Center, Oct 20,2007 from 10 am to 3 pm. Produced by DesertCruisers.com and Steve Wingenfeld from Allstate / Hagerty Insurance. KDKB 93.3FM will be doing a live remote broadcast, plus we will have a DJ out in the East lot spinning tunes and making annouuncements.

Cars will be parked amoung the fountains and around the plaza at Westgate, home of the $6 million Water Dance Fountain.
Limited to the first 1000 cars to register and the first 100 cars to apply will be parked on the plaza near the fountains and the shops. We want a variety of cars on the plaza.
Clubs will be allowed to park together in the lots at the show if they register together and come into the show together. Clubs wanting to park together must contact show admin. before the show. Cars will be allowed to enter the show starting at 7am.
Westgate has many new restaurants and shops, including the New Yardhouse, Margaritaville, Fox Sports Grill and even a new AMC 20 screen theater.
There will be additional food and product vendors.
Checker Auto will be sponsoring a treasure hunt at the center with a lot of great prizes. Treasure Maps will be only available at Checker stores in the Valley before the show.
There will also be a Charity Raffle for the public with a lot of terrific prizes.
Registration: $25.00
Due to demand, the show will probably be presold. Please register ASAP.
Registration will include a dash plaque, event t shirt, special raffle ticket for car owners only and Goodie bag with a lot of great swag and giveaways.

Admission to the event will be free to the public with a donated item for Packages from Home, care packages for the troops in Iraq.

Packages From Home is the charity that will receive all the proceeds from the charity raffles, and will be on hand to collect any donations for the troops. Click here for a list of items the troops can use:
PackagesFromHome.org

More specific information will be posted soon, including judging and awards. There will be at least 30 awards to shoot for, plus best in show.

Download and mail in your registration today. Remember, only the 1st 100 vehicles registered will be allowed to park on the plaza.

Here's some more info on the Classics on the Plaza:
I spoke to Al Tracy of Desert Cruisers. He was very excited about us joining the function. He also said there are still Plaza spots available and we should have the opportunity to get a good portion of our members on the Plaza.
The registration has to be done individually because of the disclaimer, and we should notify him at least two weeks in advance how many of us will be there so they can set up their parking plan. He said the sooner we get registered, and the earliest to call will get primo parking. But you do have up until two weeks before the event to register. (Oct. 11, which is less than two weeks, but that's what it says on the flyer.)

Oh, he also said, there will be 7 NFL games prior to the event, and they are going to select 6 registered vehicles for each game to be there to promote the event. So you might get to be on the Plaza twice!
