Will I run them when I have track only wheels? No, but fro $800.00 I can get two sets of 245/40-18's mounted and balanced.
I have had better dry traction tires but these are great all around, wet, dry, cold, whatever.
i will NEVER.... NEVER buy the top of the line, most expensive tires ever again.......
I bought a set of Eagle GT II's with the LS5's, one only lasted 7k miles, rotated them every 3k. The seller denied the warranty because he said it was due to suspension issues, but when he put it on the alignment rack, it came back with in tolerances and still denied it because he couldn't explain why only 1 ran down the way it did. I then put on a set of 255/45 Michelin Pilot Sports on the rear that had seen some considerable track time and they lasted a good while considering, and had awesome grip. I now have a set of 225/45 pilot sports, but they dont look like the same type i had on before and handle for ****, i very loose.

i think ive changed my mind on the 'good-for-a-year' tires. i was looking at the eagle gt's well. the consensus is that they dont last very long.
i'm replacing my tires this summer. time for something all season and long lasting since my 8's track and autocross days are over.
looking at the pilot sport a/s plus. they seem to be fantastic

Guess what?.... I can make it~! Woohoo.... never thought that would happen. I will be staying at my home sweet home. Driving in from DC with a friend in his Speed3.
