Also Riley Craven is bringing the professional camera with the car mounts so we should have some really nice footage of the cruise this year.

Dude, thats messed up... don't go makin people get all high expectations and stuff. Camera is "pro-sumer" middle ground between consumer and prof equip. I still think the auto-focus is shitty. But we shall see what the camera gods can bless us with.

Just remember that any none rx8 has to be last... the event is sponsored and we need to make sure the pictures reflect that its an 8 event.

Its been down since last Thursday....

I refer you to this news article: http://cbs11tv.com/local/Core.IP.Networks.2.974706.html

Our host was part of that raid, so the FBI has our website data. Host said they were hoping to have at least the data back this week so that we can put the site on another host (already have the new host set up, just need the data) I havent done anything yet at the new host because I am hoping (more like begging and praying) that we get the data back this week. I REALLY do not want to do that site from scratch again.

One can only hope that more media exposure will help get our data back...

Yeah can't say that I'm in the habit of using desktop computers to back data up (talking about work here)

But my host has a very good point. Given the scope of what the FBI did here, they could have had backups (anywhere in the US) and it wouldn't have matter cuse the FBI would have raided that too. They took server racks for crying out loud!

I've added the FBI to my list of proofing things to my task of IT jobs

Power
Air
Hardware
Data
FBI (have to make sure nothing about the FBI proofing process is documented so they can't track it down)

I dont think you realize just how much making physical backups of data these days sucks... ask Steve, he knows all about it.

Not trying to get in a bitching match here, but I do completely understand how much trouble it is to backup data and store it. When some of my clients include the entire court system for Tarrant, Dallas, and Collin County along with Clark County, Nevada (las vegas) and Miami Dade County (miami) and the entire state of Indiana...we do plenty of data backups.

I was referring mainly to the State Meet website. I've still got backups from sites that have long been taken down or I no longer manage. After my first website crash, I've been pretty **** about backup websites. Of course, it also helps that I have my own dev machine at my house that I run everything off of first before uploading it.

I think we need to promote this as a Texas Rotary meet instead of rx8, this could eventually become a huge thing considering there are no southern events like this. Just a thought. I have been contacting local dealerships here for more promotional goods.
