I am a new user with only one post thus far. I have just been doing a lot of reading from the site. I would like to know if there are any 8s in my area who has joined the online club. It would save a lot of time for us instead of everyone continuously posting and reading to try and find someone from your area. the regional forum helps a little though. BTW I am trying to locate anyone from NC in or around craven county. Appreciate any assistance offered.

I don't think you can do much better than:

1) the regional forum that already exists
2) the fact that everyone's posts includes their location on the right hand side

 

Regardless of the forum:

1) You still have to look at every user to retrieve the location if you come across their post
2) The location is optional information and can be edited in any way by the user
e.g. NY does not tell me whether you are in Bufallo or Hempstead NY

 

There is a thread in the multimedia section. Everyone who submits their name and location is put on a map. I believe it is stickied. Granted it might be out of date, but it does exist.
