anyways... if you're willing to street race, why dont you just take it to the track?! you get a lot more respect from everyone when you race on a track than an illegal street race cause i know all street racers want is attention!

Red light racing.....
Tell that to the cop who finally busts you -
"What was I supposed to do? I don't live anywhere NEAR a track! I just GOTS to race right here in front of Safeway!"
....let me know how that goes for you.

I just smoked some guy in an '04 Cobra. He had an intake and pulley (because I can see under his hood with my x-ray vision) and was in 2nd gear (because I could see what gear he was in with my x-ray vision) but I was in 3rd so it took me a few seconds to reel him in. I almost swerved into some kid on a bike, I scared the crap out of him and he fell off and broke his fibula (have I mentioned my I'm a amateur doctor?), but that's what he gets for riding on the sidewalk where I streetrace! After I blew the Cobra's doors off he pulled over and we talked shop for a little while, he commented on how fast my car was and that he couldn't believe a 4 banger could be so fast.
The above is a good example of why so many sites don't have street racing sections. Besides the fact that it's illegal, most of the stories are total BS. You can always tell because there are way too many silly details and improbabilities.
I've seen a couple sites with street racing sections where people are pretty responsible and honest. Yes, I think there are responsible street racers out there... However, they're rare and this site would only be worse off if there was a street racing section. So it's not just the fact that street racing is dangerous and illegal that prevents a street racing section on these forums.
P.S. You're retarded!

Get ahold of the scca. They will help you set up a local meet where you can race. It will be sanctioned and safe. If you dont have anyplace to race, start working on it. You will be amazed at how easy it is to get help. Then you can be the local hero, instead of a forum joke.

You dont live near a race track.
Okay dont tell me that, I just drove 13 hours here to Virginia to do some real racing on the track. On my way here through the tobacco fields, I rarely went over 75mph. Grow up

Street racing is for ricers, People have too many things to worry about we dont need an idiot racer to ruin their lives like last summer at yonge/stouffville side road, a couple going out to celebrate their anniversary and some punk t bones while flying through the intersection going 160km and the couple is both dead leaving behind their 8 year old daughter, stupid kid should be locked up forever

I said this before (and got threatened with a ban if i remember correctly) and I'll throw in my 2 cents again...
Do a search for "Lack of Power" and you will come up with 304 threads where that exact phrase appears and another 500+ threads where "Forced Induction" appears. Somehow I seriously doubt people are complaining because they don't have enough power to reach the speedlimit.
The amount of people tracking their RX8's is far far FAR less then the amount of people complaining about lack of power. In all of those threads you will see people wanting to be a fast as XXX car - and the vast frikkin majority aren't talking about a 1/4 mile drag strip, auto-x track, or road course. Everyone wants to be a stoplight hero (even people I see posting in this thread that badmouth street racing want another 100hp to do something with ) but this forums policy is that only negative comments on the power of this car is tolerated (yes, you can start a thread about how your car is so slow a Honda Accord beat you and you want a new engine... but you better say they beat you and not lost to you because that would not be tolerated)...

While I agree that drag racing on city streets is stupid...I don't think the "Fast & the Furious" movies started it....the movie was made after the fact. How could a movie about a street sub-cultre start itself?! The writers of the movie had to get the idea somewhere, no? If anything it may have facilitated the growth and popularity, but did not start the fad.
Street racing begain in the mid 1950's, not mid 1990s. Import Racing, maybe in the 60-70s. But retarded street racing, proper, has been around longer than anyone here.
