Clearly here the battle is not manual versus auto, it's i'm a manual driver that wished i had more speed and power but at least im not stupid and did not buy an auto with less gears and less speed - i know, i'll try to intimidate those auto guys, that'll make me feel better! Like little kids my ones better than yours. It's the same 4ucking car! We own them to stand out and be different, to be alienated, a group within a group of metal coffins everywhere, we're different, we own the mazda rx8 and we love it!

Best description of the auto bashing i've seen. We'd really only need 2 subforums, a general discussion and maybe performance (though could probably just get away with general). 99% of any technical problems will be common to both models. Perhaps if it was a 4-port forum instead of auto, since the 5 speed guys don't get any love in regards to performance either.

Maybe the real problem the super moderators have, is where to put the 'auto forum and sub forums'.

Perhaps we're being denied due to the simpler problem of enough space in the main menu of rx8club.com to fit us in.

If it is a problem of space i have thought of a solution.

Maybe a super moderator would be kind enough can comment on this for us.

Plus therm8's 2 sub forum idea is rather good.

about the AT problem i have an AT i would have rather had a MT but i bought a left over 2004 model and i only paid $19,200 becasue it was a left over AT. so if any MT owners would like to talk sh*t about mine being an AT i hope theres is $7,000 faster then mine but i'm sure it isn't though. so while they work the extra 10 hours a month to pay for there i'l be driving mine AT and all. have fun at work MT owners

Ummm posts like this are NOT helping our cause to try to have an auto related forum.

Guys, since it doesn't look like the other mods updated you all yet, what we decided to do is leave it as is, because we'd then have to create a MT forum as well, leading to more and more forums- however, we ARE going to crack down hard on those "get a mT you LoSEr" posts. Please, PLEASE let us know (via pm or report post button) when you see that type of thing and we'll get rid of the offending post and/or warn the poster, as the situation warrants.

Yes yes... if there is any AT bashing we will bash the MT bashers with a stick shift... or something like that...

I only have a limited amount of time to search thru all the Forums looking for AT related posts. I just found this one today and hope it keeps going. "My10ae" has a CZ post going that is very interesting, there is another on a member that has installed a Turbo in his AT. There have been a few others but most succomb to the bashers. If we can keep one alive then members with ATs can be directed toward the other threads that pertain to their interests.

As a business owner I understand "return on investment" but can not understand the builders/inovators/craftsman/manufacturers that just seem to be saying go away don't bother me when asked if their product will be compatable with an AT. Some of them will not even answer my emails.

So AT bashing is not limited to MT owners and because AT owners seem to be somewhat silent the "aftermarket" industry is ignoring us. Just hoping to have a place to hold a discussion and not feel like we are outcasts.

I'm not entirely happy with this solution but can live with it, though I disagree with the logic that creating an AT subforum will necessitate creating other forums - moderators have the power to start an AT forum, then stopping. Who has the power to force moderators to start "more and more forums"? Otherwise, you could NEVER create a new forum. I apologize for my venting...my main concern, the discouragment of AT posting due to relentless bashing, has been addressed, and I thank you for that.

AT owners must now take the responsibility of including "automatic" in their post titles to help those searching for AT posts. The search function will not accept "AT" because it only has two letters. Could the search function be altered to accept "AT" in capital letters, since "AT" seems to be the preferred term at RX8club.com?

I've e-mailed vendors, for instance a Canadian one, about the use of one of their products on my AT. The first response was sarcastic, blowing me off. My second e-mail, with further questions, never got an answer. Some, maybe most RX-8 performance vendors have a contempt for AT drivers, having an MT only attitude. That's their right, since they probably don't plan on ever selling AT performance products. A pity they can't be more polite.

If you are going to create an automatic forum, how about banning all m/t owners from posting in it? Maybe that way we'd finally feel like we actually belonged to a goddamn club.

I don't think the real issue is a seperate forum for AT's owners but that some of the MT owners just need a good slap up side the head once and awhile. :D
