Here is an old thread about my weekend there

This would also be in your range when it opens.

Lime Rock http://www.limerock.com/ is do-able as a day trip, though expect to be exhausted by the time you get home

As others have said though, Pocono has many events run by a number of clubs. Take ya about 2 hours to get there if you're near Philly (I'm just north of it myself). Pocono is cool too cuz it's really three different tracks - you can go three times and have three totally different experiences.

NASA has regular HPDE (driving instruction and open lapping depending on your expereince) at Pocono and Lime Rock. Check out www.nasanortheast.com when they finally update the schedule. The PCA runs at Pocono quite a bit also. SCCA is planning an HPDE like event (they call it just PDE now) at Pocono on June 17-18. Details are at www.triregionracing.org.

Two more tracks that you might also consider are Virginia Int'l Raceway (VIR) and Summit Point Raceway. Both are host to HPDE/DPE events as well as NASA/SCCA club racing and other open lap days. And both are within a reasonable drive from Philly.

Beaver Run is over here in western pa...www.beaverun.com

From what i've heard it is supposed to be an outstanding facility. Im going to try to make it there at least once this summer. One of their 'Flat out Friday' courses seems like a good place to start.
