Known audio problems?

My 04' RX8 has BOSE system but I'm a bit unhappy with the sound quality.

Sometimes it sounds pretty nice but randomly sounds ultra flat, very poor quality. Like if I was listening from the phone.

I know about the AMP relay from the doors. Mine it fails sometimes, but even when it works the radio makes that random things. Could be another problem with the audio system?

I'm using YATOUR plus an AUX for listen to music, maybe is that?

It is a combination of the adapter you are using, combined with the Bose system not aging gracefully... keep in mind these Bose systems were available in the earliest of Rx8 models, which suggests they were finished designing and began production prior to 2004 (and they stayed fundamentally the same through production). The Bose system in these cars is likely 22-25 years old at this point in time.

I know it's a pretty old system, I'm not looking for a top quality from 2025, just to listen to it as it should. Because sometimes sounds pretty nice and sometines goes to crap...

Try turning off autopilot, it changes tones depending on speed I believe. It causes music to sound odd at times in my car.
