PIE connector + Droid = blown tweeters?

I'm having a strange problem and I'm not sure where to start. I'm not really an audio guy but have done video stuff and am pretty comfortable with soldering and wiring stuff.

I just connected the aux mod PIE connector into the aux port on the head unit for connecting my new droid phone. I have a 04 Bose unit. Now when playing Pandora on my droid the front tweeters sound like there getting maxed out, like there blown. This only happens with Pandora and high quality songs through the PIE connector. This doesn't happen when the radio plays or playing cds. I'm get the tapping in the tweeters in the front.

So are the frequencies from my phone to high or low for the tweeters in the front? Are the tweeters getting old and not able to hit the notes?

I have the same complaints from the Bose system as everyone else but I'm not really interested in starting a large audio project, i just want to be able to listen to Pandora in my car without clicking from my front tweeters.

I searched but everything i found was about putting in subs or replacing the front woofers.

Nah, i've seen that problem on other electronics, where the source volume was too loud and you could raise it on the amp without distortion. No matter what volume on the droid it still over does the tweeters.

I'm going to try using using some different internet radio apps, last.fm, slacker etc.

btw i found a solution to this if anyone else finds this problems. I simply had to select the highest quality in the pandora application. It seems the lower quality signals was messing with the system. Once higher quality was selected the problem went away.

I have never gotten decent quality audio through Pandora. Even on the high quality setting.
