JDM 5 Speed MT Swap

So I am doing a REW swap /w a JDM 5speed MT from the JDM RX8. I'm assuming the 5speed trans harness and the 6-speed will not have the same connectors and I will need a 5-speed trans harness to splice with my existing harness? Is that correct or can I use my existing harness?

Plugs are the same... i replaced them with a Deutsch plug because i have a custom harness... but if you are using the RX8 harness the plugs are the same

that may depend on which MY, because the S2 trans has different plugs than the S1 and I’m pretty sure they still sold the 5 spd during the S2 period

otherwise S1 should mate with S1 if they’re both 2004 - 2008

they are all either 1 or 2 wire plugs though, so easy to convert to something universal like Deutsch etc. if it comes down to it.
