So I bought my 07 gt in 2016 off craigslist, ever since I bought it the red "key" light on the dash has stayed on when the car is running. I have the credit card fab with my car so it has the dummy key on the ignition and the press buttons on the door handles. At first, the key worked fine and the fab locked and unlocked the car, my door handle buttons never worked though. I lost the keys to the car so I towed it down to the dealer and got two new fabs and keys. Since then my dummy key quit working but the fab still worked. About a month later the fab quit locking and unlocking the car. Now I am stuck with using the physical key to lock, unlock, and start the car, which sucks. does anybody know whats could be going wrong here? I asked the dealership and they couldn't help at all.

 

The red key light is the immobilizer system, the car shouldn't really run if it's lit.So that's weird, I can't explain it. If you have at least one working key and fob you can program the others, there are DIYs here on that.

Have you checked the fob batteries?

 

yeah, so I have 2 working keys and 2 working fabs I don't understand why it's on either. I've replaced the batteries in both key fabs and have tried reprogramming them to the car using the open-close door method

 

Are any fuses blown? Does the power locks work properly from inside the car?

 

not that I know ode I’ve checked the fuses before but I’ll check again , and yeah the power locks and everything inside the car works
