Where Does This Vacuum Hose Go?!

Hello, everyone. I'm new to the forums, and a new RX8 owner! Do I hear any cheers? No? Whatever.

This is a Series I RX8, a 2004 to be specific, and so far... I love this damn thing. Just as fun to drive as I assumed it always would be. The unfortunate side of it? It needs quite a bit of work.

Now, don't get me wrong, it drives excellently (other than a slight pull to right), and the engine sounds healthy. I'm ASE Certified, and while I'm new to Rotary motors... I'm definitely not new to internal combustion. So, everything checked out and I only had to cough up $2K.

Aside from the front bumper damage (A chunk of the left side missing), and a terrible Flat-Black Plastidip (Yes I laughed too), paint job, the car is in great condition. Interior is only missing a couple of ***** (which I understand is fairly common), and the radio connection is loose and tends to shut off the head-unit when I hit a bump at speed.

Mechanically... Its sound. The engine, like I said, sounds fantastic, and the transmission (6-Speed), shifts flawlessly... unless I don't clutch properly which happens when I get excited sometimes.

Anyway, long story short... I'm sort of battling a CEL at the moment. More specifically a P2260. I've already checked the forums and read all of the fixes, so I'm less concerned about that (Just waiting on some extra income to fix that). However, I AM confused about one thing... I found a vacuum line... with a screw in it. After a case of mistaken identity (confusing the Baro sensor for the MAP sensor, and the hilarity that ensued after running a vacuum hose from the bottom of said Baro sensor to the "vacuum hose with a screw in it"), I am now at a loss. What the hell is this vacuum line, and where should it be going? This may be my first rotary, but I'm pretty sure that's not factory!

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I hope the pictures can get someone going in the right direction. More questions will be coming, so I need someone smart to get involved.

P.S. I pay with beer.

Its the vac line for the VFAD part of the stock intake. Often it is removed....and then the vac source is plugged

First and foremost, thanks for the reply!

Is there any sort of major benefit of plugging it? Will it hurt anything or cause any sort of long term effects? I plan on keeping the car for the next few years at the least, so I want to make sure things aren't being rigged up. Know what I mean?

If the VFAD is gone it needs to be plugged. If you have a vac leak it will cause problems.
If the VFAD is still there you should hook it back up

And a screw is not the ideal way to plug it. You need a properly sized vacuum cap.
