no spark.

Hey guys. Just got my car back about a week ago. Running pretty good until "dooms day" witch was wednesday. Im not getting any spark.. i just changed the plugs and the coils are good as well. How ever i did a little trick to make sure its no my plugs, i pulled a spark plug wire and put another spark plug into the wire and had a buddy turn it over while i held it up to my intake to watch for a spark.... nothing.. very rare it would spark once maybe twice. Its turning over good, just no spark.. thinking electrical or maybe bad plug wires... has anyone had this problem?

Any CEL's....

Possibly the ESS....not likely all 4 coils/wires/plugs would go at once...so something like ECU or ESS sensor is more likely ..

Team, when you did your 'trick' with the plugs, did you test all 4 coils and have a decent ground ?

Make sure you are testing on a Lead Coil because only the leads fire during the cranking process.
And for a ground use your tongue

or you can buy this from autozone or napa for 20 dollars'ish

If it died like you said it won't be a reflash

Multiple things don't usually fail at the same time...so look at what could cause all of the symptoms with one failure...or a cascade of failures from one cause

In this case the ESS, ECU or ECU wiring ...or a common wiring issue for all the coils..

Now i did not know only the lead coil fires first. yes they do have a good ground.. i was pulling the back pulg.. im sure its not the "lead". As i said before i changed the ess a while back ago and the 20 brake reset. My guess is wiring, or ecu.
