well i have been having problems with my APV for a while now. when i finally have had some time i took to motor off to check it. i hooked it up to a 12v battery source and it doesnt spin at all. also the white gear going to the valves itself doesnt spin. they are stuck. i know i need to pull the motor out and clean them. and im probably doing that monday. my real question is does anyone know how much the APV motor is and where i can i get it. is it only offered at a mazda dealership or can i get it somewhere else.

 

Find a local used one...they dont fail that often and most that have done motor swaps will have one

I have several spares laying around if it is bad

 

just because it doesn't move does not mean the motor is bad.

follow jon's video and see what happens.

and a lot of times all u need to do is find some backend street and Beat the **** out of your car(engine) for 10 minutes and it will free it up.

if u're one of the unlucky ones to have a bad motor (they rarely rarely fail, at least for now), u can get them cheap here (from Team, or whoever sells them)

 

OK so this is what is going on. I got the valves unstuck. they were really stuck. so they move freely now. unfortunately the APV motor IS bad. I went down to mazda today to see how much they were. they want 220 dollars for it. So if someone can please contact me I am very interested in buying one on here.
