I just bought a 2005 shinka (automatic which I know from lurking on here Is the lamest thing ever) and I'm really excited to start learning how to take care of it and tell when I'm having issue. (already had the steering issue having it fixed by seller now) I also really want to meet other people in the area so if anyone wants to help out a new owner or just meet up to gaze at out beautiful cars let me know!

 

I'm in Carrboro/Durham and just recently got a RX8 as well. How are you enjoying the car so far?

 

I'm loving it I got the shinka and all the extras are awesome. Just hurting for more good roads to drive then the few service roads I've found. How are you likekbg your 8? Got any plans for yours?

 

Nice, I wish mine was a shinka just for the nicer interior alone! I have an '04 manual velocity red at 61k miles. I've never driven a car that handled so nicely, although I haven't driven many to be honest. After the first day of having it I actually loved driving. I hadn't felt that way since I first started. Right now I'm going to focus my money on getting it sound mechanically. Hoping to change coils, plugs, wires, oil and coolant this weekend and then get some new brakes once I can. Once I have extra money lying around I'd like to pick up the BHR ignition then a front bumper, really like the PR one, but I have time to pick out my favorite. Which roads have you found?

 

There was a thread awhile back about this service road behind the sams club in raleigh so I found that. (Shiloh Glenn Dr) other then that I've tried some stuff in Hillsboro but nothing fantastic. Trying to find people in the area right now that know how to work on an 8 I want to focus on the mechanical stuff right now like you do but I'm pretty useless under a car without some direction.
