(6port) need pictures

Ok,,,

I have an 04 4port 4spd, and come hell or high water it will be a 6spd 6port auto..

I've dug up enough paper work to grow a small tree. I need pictures of the 6port rear iron and the bell housing of the 6sp trans and a picture of the 4port rear iron (for some guess work). Mazda dealer ran vins from my car and a 06 with the 6spd and everything is the same (so they say)

as far as i can tell, doing a complete 6port swap,,engine/trans/ecu&harness/tcu&harness and electronics i should be fine (per mazda) besides the only other question is the gauge cluster, with it read a 5 and 6 in Manual mode?

anywho.... so if anyone has pictures let me know, and no im not going to trade in my car for an 06, unless by some act of God its Nordic Mica Green.... The Green Machine is staying here lol.

Might be a lot easier to buy a wrecked +06 and just swap everything.

would love to do this. Just wish I had known enough about the power a 04 would have versus an 06

the 6port automatic rear iron is DIFFERENT! Mazdatrix.com is the best place to get it. When My 6port at was tuned it had alot more power than a 4 port. Ive done comparison "tests". lol. My redline was raised also. I did another comparison test vs. a 6 speed manual, it was neck and neck.

Many people have felt the way you on this issue. The N/A 4port is a Pig

However, this mod will cost you a lot of money/time/aggravation. The one thing that you have going for you is that the 4 port engine works very well FI. I'm guessing the cost of going FI will be in the same ballpark as doing the overall tranny mod. I would look into Pettit and their supercharge setup.

Bottom line is even with a 6port auto your not going to get a big bang for the buck. That's just my 2cents on the topic.

Take a look at Phil's Pettit thread

yeah, it was an idea as i have many ideas in the works and waiting for banks to get off there but and lend the funding to do what i want. but its a project i'll take up one of these days.

my plan of attack is to go from 4spd to 6p/6spd manual now, but i havent forgoten about the auto guys, if things fall into place i will get one and do the conversion just to do it.

there just insn't enough "heart" in moding these like it was with the dsms. Dont get me wrong everyone is a wrench monkey in some form or another, just thought someone would have at least shined some light or atempted it, but seeing how hard and few these cars are, and finding one thats been tboned or such in good mech shape besides the body is like finding a needle in a hay stack, but i'm not going to give up on it, i'm still researching both plans of attack and i know RR did a right up, but im digging deaper.

thanks for the insite Pico
