Can I turn off notification horn beep with remote door lock?

Daughter has the 8 at school today. Last time she drove it to school, she managed to lock the keys in it even though it has keyless entry and the remote works fine. Turns out she doesn't like to use the remote because she thinks it's too loud and calls too much attention. Yeh, strange, I know - I guess it's one of those teen phases they talk about. Anyway, is there a way to turn the horn notification off yet still have the lights blink or something? I'm pretty sure my dodge truck will let me set it that way. But I don't have access to the owner's manual today to look it up.

If it can be done and is in the manual, that's all I need to know. Thanks.

Press the button once your system will arm and there will be no beep. Reason for the beep on the second press is for if your in a sketchy place and you want people hear you arm your alarm system.

Whoaaaah, I never knew that. That's awesome. I always thought the first button press was to lock without alarm.

^ Indeed. The car locks with alarm on the first press. I always like hitting it until it beeps. Just in case.. And who cares if it causes attention. Everyone does it?!

I think it beeps way too loud as well when you arm it, it should be a quick light horn beep, it seems to lay into the horn pretty good on the second press. I know I've accidentally pressed it twice after I pull into my garage and it awfully loud. I just press it once.

I never let it beep, I prefer to stay out of sight and out of mind for those around me. But i also park in visible locations, not out in the dark reaches of the parking lot or under some remote light in the lot where no one ever looks. Had a friend that used to jack cars, and they would normally pick the ones parked out in the back since ppl seemed oblivious to what happens in the back of the lot.
