Saw on the AU forum where you said you hated your KU36 tries.

Since I am considering buying them, what is it about them you do not like?

General consensus of opinion seems to be:
Pretty good in the dry[Revolver did his fastest ever Wakefield lap on them-1.14 odd.]
Not too good in the wet.
Fair bit of road noise as they wear a bit.
That's about it really.

Pretty much what Len said Monte.

If I only had to drive them on a dry track, I'd love them - a lot of grip for not much money BUT...

living with them day to day sucks! They are diabolical in the wet and deafening as they wear. A real one trick pony of a tyre and I'll be forking out for quality again next time.

 

I rang round today to check out the price of tyre's locally and as I guessed they were much higher than that around the country. I asked if they would price match and they said the super low priced ku36 and rt 615 tyres are parallel imports from the Asian market and are inferior to the au. delivered items.

I reckon the first part is true that they import them from cheaper markets. you can even import from the US and save money when buying tyres. but are they really inferior?

 

no idea but I can confirm that my tyres are getting even louder, if that's possible. at freeway speeds it's bloody deafening! seriously considering doing some circlework soon...

have you been keeping track of how many km's you have done on them?

regard less of the bad review I'm still thinking of trying them out. I have heard that people get about 8000 Km out of them including a few track days so that seems really good for the type of tyre.

 

Sorry, no. I'm hopeless at keeping track of that kind of stuff . Care factor is pretty low.

They are fabulous in the dry - great grip for the money - but I still think they're too much of a one trick pony for road driving. Don't say you weren't warned.
