turbo xs '09

turbo xs informed me their exhaust fits all models of rx8, including the 09s. I was under the impression the 09+ was different somehow, and that 04-08 catbacks woudnt fit properly. Anyone got any input?

Exhaust manifold and midpipe are the same. Our catbacks are different, I believe they sit lower and the tips are bigger and in a slightly different spot.

Not 100% on the actual differences I just know that the catback is different.

I believe the clearance for the catback is different with the series II RX8s compared to the series I.

I know the CAT is different as it states so in the Service Highlights, along with the emission system itself. I believe the catback is mounted higher up and the tops are slightly higher and further apart.

Racing Beat and several others have different exhausts listed for each model.

^+1 seems everyone agrees the series 2 catback mounts in a different placement. Wonder how turbo xs catback fitsboth models?

I'm sure that s1 catback wont fit on s2.
The mounting position is different.

At the moment, isn't it pretty much only Racing Beat that offers an '09+ specific cat-back?

i used the Exoticspeed R1-T cat-back on my 09 rx-8 and just trimmed the shrouds a tad so the tips didn't touch. Other than that it fits fine.

My neighbors do hate my car with the Rotary Performance race mid-pipe coupled with the R1-T cat-back though...

I put the turbo-xs with race pipe on my 2010 R3 fits fine, had to get some different hangers so that the pipes would sit lower from the shrouds.....Its a little loud but I think some of you are over doing it.....I had a racing beat header with a hi-flow cat and similar style exhaust set up on my 2nd gen and it was 3 times louder then my 8 which has no cat.....if its droning inside I suggest you spray the bottom with some rubberized undercoating which you can get at any autozone for a few bucks.....I drive it and can still here my stereo without having to blast it, so I dont know what you are all talking about......
