So I'm looking at getting a new set of volks (yay!). And I'm either thinking 8.5 all around or maybe 8.5 up front and 9.5 in the rear. The only problem is... I bought new rims only a few months ago so they're in rather good condition. I really am not a fan of the stretched look, so am I looking at also getting new tires? To be more specific, would I have to worry about having the stretched look with the 8.5s? If I went with 9.5 I'm sure I'd get the stretched look. I've considered just selling my rims anyways, so if I can avoid the stretching, then I'll just be decided on selling.

Next question is about places to buy them... I checked tire rack and they dont have what I want. The only place I've found them is vivid. Anyone have good/bad things to say about them? Or any other recommended shops?

And last question... offset?

Thanks in advance... I tried searching and found some answers but nothing that I was able to figure out and apply to my specific questions. I know there's the "will it fit thread" for offset.. but since I have this one now I went ahead and asked.

 

With 8.5's the tires won't be too stretched... with 9.5's they will be and they'll look sick!

As for offset... 18x8.5 +30 is good... but of course you don't want to be mad-JDM-tite flush so probably +35 on the 8.5 ad +40-45 on the 9.5... I'm running 18x9.5 +35 with 245/40R18 Dunlop Z1s and I only have rubbing in the rear if a hit fat dips.

 

19x8.5 +35-40 offset all round with 255/35/19? tires if you're going new tires...
18x8.5 +35-40 all round with stock tires is fine.

 

thanks! I personally dont like the stretched look so I'd prefer to avoid that. I wouldnt say I'm completely against it but given the choice I would choose to not have it. Thanks again!

Also, any good recommendations for tires? something with fair pricing and good performance... currently have the S-03 Pole Positions... got those for $125 off tire rack but seems they no longer have those so looking to replace them... can probably go a bit more expensive seeing as I'll probably be selling my rims + tires....
