Can you Siphon gas from an RX8?

I need to take some gas out of my car so that I can install a new fuel pump. Anybody know of any reasons why you would not be able to siphon gas out of the tank?

No reason you can't. Nothing out of the ordinary for an '8 vs. any other car's gas tank. Just remember to give the gascap a few extra clicks when you're done.

I didn't know that. About time they did so. There's nothing in the manual to confirm/deny so I guess a flexible tube probe is in order.

No, my enging bay is pretty torn down right now. I have slightly over a 1/4 tank and I would like to take out 2 or 3 gallons.

Is there a drain plug? Haven't looked recently, but fuel tanks used to have drain plugs.

I haven't been able to siphon gas out of any car for the past 20 years or so. Used to fill my lawn mower by siphoning, rather than shlepping a can down to the gas station.

You brought up a 6 months old post to say that?

There was a report about some guy that had gas stole from his vehicle (I didn't hear if it was a car or suv) at a local casino. They drilled into the tank. Not only had he lost the gas, but if there was a spill on the ground, he would have been liable for a hazmat charge for the cleanup.
I would think the RX8 is too low to the ground for anyone to gain entry this way.
