prolong add for rx8

Found this yesterday in a european magizine.

The add said it reduces oil consumption on the rotary? Like thats a bad thing. They obviously do not understand how the rotary works.
I thought they went out of business? I looked for the additive they make for my beater and I could not find it. I have seen some prety destructive things done to my old beater cars and the motor will not die.
I have used this ever since I had a car loose its water pump and not overheat in 90deg weather.

Snake oil! The finest oil ever made. Solves all your problems for the mere cost of half your life savings!

Oil use cannot be changed by the kind of oil you use. the OMP determines how much oil is injected. Unless each bottle comes with an AccessPort, I don't think it's going to be adjusting the OMP.

Hey mayby its like 80wt. Its so thick it cant get pushed through the OMP.
I thought it was kind of funny I had to snap a cellphone pic so everyone could squint trying to read it.

unless it has nanobots that reprogram the OMP settings, i'd say it's useless.

Judging from what I can read from the pic, I think the stuff is supposed to burn off slower and possibly cleaner. It might last longer on the surfaces of our rotor housings then 5w30, but at 24 bucks a quart , I don't think its worth it

mazda just reprogramed the OMP to inject more oil. more is better = premix.
Most people view burning oil as bad.

Yep the clean burning cought my eye. It was the only thing that made sense. I bet at $24/qt they thought people would like to hear it burns less.
They allready have a lawsuit for unsubstantiated claims for oil additives. why not one more.

it probably just clogs the omp so there is less oil going in...

Prolong making unsubstantiated claims? What a concept!!

IMHO, Penn and Teller could do an entire episode on Prolong.
