Harmon Kardon Drive + Play
Harmon Kardon Drive + Play
Hi all,
i tried searching the threads, but can't find an answer for the following:-
I want to install the Harmon Kardon Drive + Play system with an Ipod,
Do I still need to install an Audiolink/Icelink/Neo system ?
Many thanks to anyone who can answer this.
Cheers

Oh yeah, here's a thread about it.
https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/ipod-install-hk-drive-play-no-auxmod-advanced-yet-106466/
here's a link of customer reviews about it:
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Custo...Review.do#tabs
keep in mind that this music is played through the radio. Basically it's an advanced version of a FM transmitter. I was also interested in this, but i've heard a lot of mixed reactions regarding sound quality vs. radio interference.

Hi Thebiggdaddy,
Many thanks for your reply, however I want to go the
direct wire input way, not using the FM way.
What I want to use is the "PIE- ALP/m 3.5" cable supplied by
Mazdaparts between the Radio & HK D+P. Will this work
without the other audiolink/icelink/Neo modules?
See cable at:
http://www.mazdaparts.com/ProductDet...000-1154409212
Otherwise I can make a cable myself with the 3.5mm plug & Mazda Radio connection.
Thanks again for anyones help.

I actually have the drive+play in my 8. I had put it in with the add on cable that harmon kardon sells that the antenna wire runs through. It did the job but the sound quality wasnt the greatest. I then bought the auxmod i read about here and havent looked back since. The quality of the sound is great and i love the control and display of the drive+play.
