245/45-17 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on 17x9+48 949Racing 6ULR wheels (3 miles)
Category: Wheels & Tires
Price: $0
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part Fits (you may select multiples): Others, Series I, Series II
Location (US State/Canada/Int): TX
Item Condition: Used
Up for sale is a set of (4) 245/45-17 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires mounted on (4) 17" x 9"+48 949Racing "6ULR" wheels in anthracite/charcoal finish (5x114.3 pattern). The MPSS is arguably one of the best *real* street tires made, period; dry grip, wet grip, handling, & wear/tread-life. The wheels easily clear the RacingBrake aftermarket 4-pot 2-pc brake upgrade kit and likely all others too.
The tires have about 3 miles (yes, three miles) use on them; technically used, but as good as new. I bought (Tirerack) & mounted these in Aug/2012, then drove them just enough to scrub the mold release compound off the treadface in anticipation of using them as a rain tire racing setup.
However, as it goes when buying rain tires you never need or use them. Other than the few times I carried them along to a National racing event over the weekend, they have been kept in climate control storage. The wheels should be in pretty good shape other than some minor cosmetic finish scrapes on the lip from the tire mounting gorillas.
These would make a great street tire set for someone or also a rain tire set for someone competing in a street tire racing class. Will post up some pics soon and verify condition then as well. Includes center caps and hubcentric rings. The wheels also have dual opposing metal valve stems for nitrogen purging, in theory less balance weighting too. Listed weight of the wheel is 18# each, never verified it myself though. Reason for selling them is I'm moving to a racing tire class and will be using wider wheels with racing rain tires on them instead, so these no longer serve my purpose.
$----./for the mounted set plus shipping, located in the DFW/TX metroplex if someone is interested in having them picked up instead
SOLD

the only reason I would consider splitting them up is if I had two serious buyers who wanted the wheels & tires or if someone wants the tires only. I could use the same size racing rain tire on these wheels rather than going to something wider if it came down to it.
Just as in this case, as long as I have mounted rain tires it never rains when it's justified for me to use them

First consideration is for the people inquiring about the complete set.
On my way down there tonight to get pics and such.
edit: didn't anticipate big thunder and rain storms tonight, so it may be Friday or the weekend before I can get down there

Sorry, a lot going on and couldn't get this squeezed in before having to be out of town all this week. Probably should have waited before posting this up. Appreciate your parience until I can get the detailed pictures posted in about a week.

sorry for the delay, life stuff getting in the way
the wheels are in very good shape, there are some scuffs on the outer side that aren't going to show up in the pics, no curbing, etc. The only issue is a few scrapes on the inner barrel (brake side) and some knucklehead at a tire shop hit them with the metal claws on the inner barrel once in their history. Just mentioning it because someone else complained about this once, not a big deal for me since I'm more interested in go than perfection-show. The tire corners aren't even scrubbed.
