My lack of tuning was the only thing holding me from saying my 8 ran perfect with it.I had a custom upper intake manifold fabricated to replace the stock plastic one. The stock mani may not handle the pressure when boosting, as Mazda designed it to run under vacuum not boost. My custom manifold is made using the same upper intake manifold that comes with the Pettit Racing Supercharger kit..slightly modified of course.
Between 5-6k miles on the turbo kit

The down pipe has additional bungs, the original O2 sensor bung and another for an air/fuel ratio gauge. The smaller bung is for an exhaust temp gauge or can be capped off if you dont want to use it.

now that's worthy of a mention ... nice addition to the exhaust. up close nice and neat right where it should be.
I'd consider the GReddy exhaust pieces if you decide to part out. I've been wanting to have a stand-by ceramic coated exhaust manifold for a while.

When I installed the turbo kit I had a thought that the stock upper intake would perform better and look better if it were made of aluminum. Like I said before the stock mani really was designed for vacuum conditions not being pressurized. I got the intake mani from Pettit Racing to use as platform to build my custom turbo intake.
