A good hard Italian tune after last week's service. Idling smoother. Generally seems happier all told than two weeks ago. It's been used for work far to much lately .....

Still the odd squeek from the front right and it hates being started 3-5 hours after being shut down. But, meh, it's old enough.

Changed oil and filter. Installed Carbotech 1521 pads on Carbotech'd track rotors. Bled brakes. Swapped street wheels on for TPMS sensors. Need to get her inspected next week, then back to track gear!

Went for a drive and enjoyed it. Gets a great backfire when sharply letting off the gas at the top of 2nd gear. Crack!! hahaha!

Went a bit nuts with my new Zaino kit.. inside (leather treatment) and out.

Swirlies before the swirl reducer

Swirlies after the swirl reducer, but before the wax and gloss enhancer

Top, after coat number two

Shinies after coat 2 completion.. entire kit, claybar start to 2nd wax.gloss finish.

Very happy with my Zaino kit. :D

Dom, put the plate on your dash by the PS airbag. I did that while I was in TX. Unless cops in your area are THAT big of dicks or your being a dick lol you should be fine. Tint is needed for sure.

I did mine Saturday at work, wax not tint. Tint has been done since 2011 and it still looks amazing 5% limo all the way around.

Unfortunately, they are that big on it. This is one of the silliest states to drive in I've ever seen.

Looks great, did you make the brackets yourself? Where did you buy that secondary tank?

Hah - "GM Enthusiast".. My other car is a Camaro SS.

Thanks, yeah I made them out of 1" x 1/8" flat bar. Just hammered them over in a vice. Drilled and tapped holes for the studs, threaded them in from the back and cut the heads off with a small tack weld on top. I have since added a leg off the other side to hold a catch can.

The tank is from USplastics.com

The tank part number is 10040, the hose I got was 56429 and I also got a strainer, part number 11488.

Putting your plate on the dash is a dangerous thing to do.

I run without here in Texas, but my car is registered as a truck, so only one plate was provided.

I don't think it works anymore, but when my car was originally registered, trucks in Texas did not have to have front plates. The Porsche dealer who sold it frequently used that loophole to "exempt" sports cars from having to display a front plate. It's a technical argument that would probably fail in the end, but cops here don't seem to be sticklers for front plates anyway.

In any case, my registration papers say "Passenger Truck".

That's kinda why I'm asking. How can you register a passenger car or sport car as a "truck"? Seems like the Texas motor vehicle department would just say no to that on the paper work.

No idea. Texas is pretty chill about a lot of things--especially things concerning cars. They probably just don't care. Here is a photo of the relevant portion of my registration renewal form (which is on my desk, because it happens to be due next week).

Some people have made that claim about my FB RX-7, but never about my RX-8.

Front plates are required here in The People's Democratik Republik of Marylandistan, but I just don't run them anyway. I get ticketed every 3-4 years. The ticket is $75, no points, and usually only happens if I'm misbehaving and bring myself to the attention of an officer. So, my fault.

Oh, and on-topic: Ordered front hubs from Mazdacomp to replace the ones that finally died after 7000-ish on-track miles...
