What did you do with your RX8 today?
Wow. Someone was apparently very unhappy with their 8, and felt the need to let the rest of us know just how much.. Meh. Thoroughly happy with mine, and I knew what I was getting into.
Maybe they'll be able to get something decent out of it, at least.

Better question is...how in the hell do you use 160 gallons of gas in a month (I think my math is right on that...the average for premium here is $2.50).
As for what I did...I had to park closer to the building at work then usual and got her doused by the sprinklers as a result
Thank God I have an unlimited car wash subscription!

To Andrew, I go through two tanks a week. So it may be less than $400 now since gas prices are down. Oil will obviously continue to climb

Wasn't being a bigot, said nothing negative up there now did I? I certainly didn't say you weren't entitled to share your unhappiness, it's the balance to our happiness.
All I did was point out that you were obviously very unhappy, and felt the need to share, which is all truth, per your first post.

Good luck
Global Model S sales passed the 100,000 unit milestone in December 2015, three years and a half after its introduction
To each there own I guess. The cost benefit ratio does not turn on a up swing until everything is paid for in full. Honestly you are better off with a hybrid. At least they run of unicorn farts. True story.
Its going to be hard to charge a Model 3 this summer, and next summer. My dad pre-ordered one too. He's expecting to get his in 2019 or 2020 and by that time, our 2011 Saab 9-5 will be sold for next to nothing or donated. If Tesla has only produced over 100,000 Model S units recently
How are they going to produce 400,000 cars in a timely manner?

The Model S is not being produced in the gigafactory or at least it's not in full production.
Your father probably didn't wait in line like I did. If he purchased online, he's probably number 200k or more.
you = elite
us = not worthy
Try again? Hopefully third time is a charm. "Hypocrite" basically boils down to do as I say, not as I do... which does not apply here as Dom never told you not to express your opinion...

Actually, Mazda is closer to running on unicorn farts because if there was such a thing, they would expel gas, which the Rx8 runs on.

It's called the gigafactory which will start producing that amount shortly.

Ironically that is closer to the truth. Mazda has the third highest average fuel economy, beating Honda, despite not having a single hybrid or electric vehicle. Only Tesla and Toyota rank higher. Unicorn farts indeed.
That means among gasoline-powered cars, Mazda is the most efficient car maker there is.
Zoom-zoom, bitches!

Wow, a news flash, the Rx8 is not fuel effecient . . . however I suspect this person got this car and thought it was a toyota that handled well and didnt do any maintenance or upkeep. I see this alot from ppl who buy this type of car, they think it will just be fast and all they have to do is put gas in and get the oil changed at jiffylube every year or so . . .
Or Doom-doom, the RX8 didn't help with Mazda's financial troubles
Shouldn't a vehicle with exotic car reliability at least perform like one? Throw in Honda Civic Torque and 4x4 Truck fuel mileage (with boat attached) and I'm not sure what I'm getting in return anymore.
Even the 500hp Corvette gets 30mpg and have seen them tear up Miatas at the Sunday autocross with no Kabooms!
I don't hate the 8, I just moved on. That's all. I guarantee none of you will own the 8 in the next decade and this forum will be gone and searchable only through archives. Anyone with half a foresight can see that not enough 8s were produced to generate enough advertisements to keep the forum going in the future especially once they start crashing and being outclassed by the new revolution of affordable electric cars that do everything better.

I may not be around in 10 years, but if there is still an enthusiastic membership 12 years after it's introduction now, even with all of it's well documented problems, then there will surely be plenty of enthusiasts in years to come.
Also, at the rate they are being parted out, swapped, and scrapped, I foresee a time when unmolested 8s start becoming desirable and increasing in value.
"Outclassed"?
It depends on your viewpoint.
I would rather be an active driver listening to that classic rotary engine at WOT than a semi-passenger sitting behind the wheel of a silent, glorified Rascal.
Not to mention some of us actually ENJOY maintaining and working on our 8s.
Zoom Zoom.
