Exclamation How much would it be to add a turbo to my stock rx-8?

I have a completely stock Rx-8 that i just bought a week ago, my question is how much it would be to install a turbo, because i know to install it it would be best to also upgrade my air intake system and the exhaust system, so if you have done this and wanna give me prices and maybe some good brands lemme know.

It's going to cost you roughly $3,600-$5000 just for the basic Greddy kit.
Then you can purchase the MM Turbo upgrade kit for like $2,000 and the Cobb Accessport with MM tune is probably gonna run you around $600-800.

Then after you blow your engine you're most likely going to need around $2,600-$5000 for a new engine depending on the honesty of your dealership.

OP.

Self install: ~$5000 (Used Greddy kit, new couplers, engine management, boost controller, dials, pods, etc..) THEN GET IT TUNED

In and out shop install: ~$9000

Just go sell your 8 and get a corvette or something.

I just built out my car. expense total with self install (just turbo).... 3200. now add exhaust, intake, ignition, tuning, clutch, and various other little goodies you end up around 6k. This was my cost. It was low because I bought my kit for a ridiculously cheap price.

nah... the real reality only concerns the first 2 points.
The AP part would be replaced by a rant thread, way cheaper.

This thread pretty much sums it up OP.

It's long, but the results are outstanding.

Enjoy.

I don't know if I would call that "more typical".
Sean decided to lay into the setup before he had me get past his base calibration and most people wont, I don't think, immediately swap an LS engine in as soon as the blow their first motor.

why should everyone "TELL" you what to get? Why don't you do your own research?
Laziness before a turbo build will cost you in the end...

OP, I've been researching turbos for some 4 or 5 months now and am still not comfortable with it yet. Maybe in a few more months I think I'll be able to tackle it. It is expensive and a lot of work.

Yeah bro I heard this company named SEARCH has a great deal on big-*** turbos perfect for your '8.

As far as your exhaust upgrade goes, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH AS THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN DISCUSSED A WHOLE FREAKIN' LOT has a true dual exhaust for cheap (I thought their company name was overly long too, but who am I to judge?).

But seriously, a simple search would have given you the answers you need. People give you sarcastic answers simply because 99% of the people who ask for this information will never put a turbo in their car. It just gets old.
