PPort MSP
I'd really like to see a system where the engine used sideports under say 4k rpm, and then opened up Pports for intake and exhaust, kinda like a semi pp job.. ala Defind's 430rwhp 20b. we really need a new terminology, as we have pports, semi p ports(just smaller version of a pport) and then the on/off pport designed to keep low end/idle/drivability, and deliver the upper end HP.

Oh my! Are you running this alongside the stock sideports?

Better for Daily Driving I'm assuming?

I'm curious as to how oil consumption and MPG's are going to be affected though... mainly out of curiousity as mine isn't my daily driver anymore but smaller affects on both would be desireable..
Chances are this will not work with my low mount kit anyway

i saw renny housings that looked just like this at the occ mazda meet a few months ago. the guy had an old mazda pu with an old rotary in it. he showed me these housings and he also plugged goopy seals often, i think i still have his info at home but ill have to check
IMO I dont like the fact of running High Compression Rotors the Renesis has on a boosted application, but then theres debates with this, I just dont like the smaller margin for error on a High Comp motor. Im actually seriously thinking about selling the 8 for a RX7, I want some more power now, but if this shows worthy i might reconsider.
What you mean rarely periph port on the street? Isnt All the RX7's periph ports?
People correct me if im wrong on any of this, Its just what I have read on here and on rx7club. flame suit on! lol
^ im 99% sure they are. I would really like to see how this turns out. I have a spare motor laying here i am wanting to mess with and this may turn out to being what im looking for. Along with a few other upgrades

for our purposes peripheral just refers to ports located directly in the rotor housing, giving intake and exhaust charges a direct shot at the rotor. therefore a peripheral port engine refers to one that has both intakes and exhausts in the rotor housing.
ALL pre-Rx-8 production rotaries had peripheral exhaust ports, but side intake ports. the only possible exception (and i have yet to confirm this with a credible source) might be some of the earlier 10A engines (Cosmo 110, R100 and Rx-3) which i recall reading somewhere had small peripheral intake ports. the one 10A engine that i have seen with my own two eyes had side intake ports though.
peripheral intake ports are what are rarely used on the streets, and like i said before, never came in production rotary vehicles. they are race engines and while some people have successfully tamed them with or without modern engine management, they are generally going to be obnoxiously loud, gas-guzzling animals.
