Lightbulb My RX8 Dual intake

I made my own intake for $40 using PVC. It had one head. I felt I lost power rather then gained and my engine would kinda flutter for air. So I made a two headed intake. No more Fluttering allot more sound and feel better then the one head. Check it out. Its slanted, I am going to fix it so its stright. Im saving up to go turbo this is just temp.

Heads $25 each

PVC $10

Pretty interesting mod. Put your car on a dyno so we can see how much power this adds.

If i remember reading right.. you should only use the black pvc as the white one release fumes as it heats up and is not soo good for the motor.

what will they think of next ? Very inventive but doubtful of any advantage over stock - especially as you have converted your cold air intake to a hot air intake ...

I don't understand why you'd remove the stock airbox to fab your own more restrictive intake?

should have just removed the walls on your stock intake and got a k&n filter for the same price and less hassle.

my 2 cents

I think this ideal would be interesting if he extended the tube to the front of his car.

This would change it from the dual hot air intake he has now to a dual cold air intake.

Also, he might get an increased volume of air over if he had a single filter and inlet.

You should have gone for a quad intake. Don't think horizontally, think vertically!

You must be new. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

For some reason I see this thread making it other forums so they can laugh at it. Isn't pvc heavy? It's not a great heat restrictor. But hey, if it works then congrats. I would put some kind of piece over the tubing so it covers it. Wouldn't want to go show off the new mod with white pvc showing. Pep boys sells intake piping that is not metal. It is lightweight and looks nice.
