Yup. I too wish my wife was more comfortable with long drives and it didn't pain her so much. Ah well. What is, is.

And yes, having a backup driver would help significantly.

 

It pains her? as in physically causes her pain?! Oh noes! I'm sorry for her, moving down to NC might not be such a pleasant experience....I'm sure visiting family isn't fun for her if you two drive down there...

someone needs to convince Greg to go on this road trip...I'm sure his supercharged 8 ANd his 3 would be GREATLY admired at SS

 

Yeah, she physically can't take more than about 4 hours in a car without several hours of non-car time. And by several I mean like 24.

Moving to NC, realistically, we would ship 1 car and he would fly down and I would drive the other. Once in NC though, he mom is close and driving over isn't the painful proposition it is now (~16 hours)

 

Oh well being closer to her mom would make things much better, I usually drive ~2 hours (okay okay 1 1/2, let's get serious I am a speed demon ) to visit my rents....and i don't mind it, but the 5 hour trips to my ex's place in NC KILLED me...(mostly cause it was JUST me driving, all by myself)

I hope things get better though I can't wait for you to be down near us!!! then you could come to some of the central VA meets

 

Well, put it this way Sephy, I will not object to someone riding along for even part of the gas. For example, whatever it was cost to fly out for you, pay for that much in gas and the ride is yours (or whoever)

If cost is a hinger, then I'll do that to open up the options if you (or Rory or whoever) would want to ride out instead of flying. No extra cost on your end, and still helps out my overall cost

 

i maybe bringing a couple friends along. One of is a 85% and the other about 60%. I will see what happens when the time gets closer.
