People sit in line for over an hour to get in to park. He'll spend 5 minutes on the drive and much longer than that waiting. It's a couple hour trip for him if he takes his car!

Well it looks like my girlfriend can't go. She just got a new job as an actuary and can't get any days off so soon. Oh well. It'll be a cheaper trip!
Brillo and I were talking about coming up on Thursday and leaving on Monday so we can have some time to see the area.

RG, that'll be a fun trip for you guys. You gonna do a little BLOG about it again? You'll be there to see the big So-Cal caravan pull in... 50+ so far and counting.
Anyone going to the dinner?

We'll probably do something like that again. We could just add to the old one. It's still there on the first page since this section of the forum moves slow.
We are both planning on going to the banquet again.

I'm turning it into a big trip
Arrive in LA...
*SS9 Friday to Late Saturday or Early Sunday....
Sunday to Tuesday in LA visiting friends/check in on warehouse
*Tuesday SEMA
Fly out of Vegas
Anyone else going to SS9 and SEMA from the LA area who are driving? I will pay for gas...yes all of it (well I'll authorize Mazdaparts.com to ).
Feel free to contact me.

The place you want to go with an RX-8 is Mullholland Drive, off the 101 Freeway northwest of LA. Out in the canyons there you can drive the corners for hours!
I'm coming to Sevenstock from Blythe, then have to immediately drive to Vegas to put my car IN the SEMA show! It's gonna be a long 7 days!

Guys guys... why drive to North LA/Mulholland when you have twisties to conquer like Ortega Hwy(74), the quickie Live Oak/Santiago Canyon runs, or cruise PCH from Newport Bch to Dana Point past Laguna, all within 20 mins. of SS9?

We're going to do what we've done tha past 2 years. We'll fly in at about 9 am on Friday and leave around noon on Monday. That way we have Friday and Sunday to run around and see things.
Don't assume we are only staying in Irvine! There's lots of places to drive and not much time to do it.

Nope, I don't have the time or extra money to devote to it right now. I'm trying to pay off some credit card debt and every extra dollar helps right now. I've wanted to go for years and will one day though.

Just confirmed for Sevenstock 9 are Sylvain Tremblay and David Haskell of SpeedSource Race Engineering! Making the trip to SoCal with Tremblay and Haskell will be their Grand Am Rolex GT RX8 they been developing and competing in for 2006. SpeedSource has specialized in Mazda racing since its inception. Throughout the late '90s, continual development of the 2nd generation Mazda RX-7 produced a national market for the ITS class car, engines, and components. SpeedSource built over 50 Mazda RX-7s and dominated club racing, winning the SCCA ITS ARRC championship in 1998 and 1999.
SpeedSource also developed the 3rd generation Mazda Twin-Turbo RX-7, and again produced on-track results and built a market base for race parts. Endurance racing from 1996 through 1998 saw the two-car team score numerous poles, podium finishes, and the 1998 team championship in the Speedvision Cup. SpeedSource, with primary support for Mazdaspeed and Mazda USA, develops, builds and races the Mazda RX-8 in the Grand-Am Cup ST Championship, winning the drivers and teams championship in 2004, the first year of development. For 2005, SpeedSource repeated their 2004 success with the 2005 Driver, Team, and Manufacturer's Championship.
Our Banquet program has come together extremely well and with the newest addition it promises to be something very special. Purchase your tickets today!

I hope the Courage will be there again this year. That is a really cool looking car.
Just for the fun of it, if anyone is going, I'll be walking around all day wearing a Royal Purple synthetic oil hat!
