The TPMS on the RX-8 does measure pressures accurately. When I plug in my Harrison scan tool I see four pressures displayed, and they agree with what a good tire pressure gauge says. I just don't know which is which. I've driven cars with elaborate displays that do say which is which...I presume there's a little programming involved when you rotate tires or replace a sensor.

Corvette has an easy time saying which wheel is which pressure since each tire is unique to each corner. Modern Corvettes seem to be as much about the electronic experience as the driving experience.

Far as I know,(and it's pretty damn good info) on at least my car(Series I).
26psi sets it off on the low side and about 49psi on the high side.

So.....you will probably have to go higher than 42psi to see it on the high side, and I'm not surprised those at 28psi aren't seeing it either!

An older TSB has it liested as............

• Low air pressure in any or all wheels {below 179.26 kpa (26 PSI)}
• High air pressure in any or all wheels {above 337.84 kpa (49 PSI)}

Don't know why the would make it any different for Series II????
