Water can also get into the trunk if the rear S2 tailights are not sealed well to the frame. Everything is still holding including a very rainy trip to Central PA this weekend that turned into an ice then snow storm.
The problem came back a week or so ago when it rained. My friend noticed it as we were walking towards the car.
So I did a little more research, and came across this gem of a reply:

I've silicon-ed my tail lighs twice thinking it was them, but then i discovered this slit in the trunk, that doesn't seem to be welded. You can even see the residue where the water flowed and then dripped onto the the white bulb connector!! So spread the word, don't replace your taillight gaskets if you don't have to and just silicone the slit.
Applied this fix and bam, no more condensation after another rain! Fingers crossed and hope it never, ever comes back.
