Mine did that when I first bought the car. They fixed it under warranty. It was a long time ago though, so I forget what the actual problem was.

There is a TSB on it, go search for "water in tail light" or go to http://www.finishlineperformance.com....php?pageid=11

It a common issue and they should take a care of it. It involves replacing the gasket.

You can alkso search the issues and problems and/or the DIY section if you want to do it yourself.

i have replaced it 5 times.....your dealer is a liar......i am sorry but if you are under warantee take it to a competant dealer, have them perform the proper tsb, sue the proper gasket and it shouldnt happen again.....and try searching before hitting the start new thread button.....you might wanna refrain from riling up the walnuts

chrism is right, take it to another dealer. My service dept. keeps them in stock because of the issue. I had my passenger side one replaced last week.

i just took my taillights out myself (very easy) and drilled 2 small holes underneath the taillights. I should take pictures..... It allows air to recirculate. Mine haven't fogged or gotten water in them for a few months now.

well i took it to the dealership again the same one that turned me down the first time and they explained it to me like this... they would call it in but they're sure its not covered under warranty cause its a gasket that goes around the bulb not the actual plastic casing. but i saved myself some time and listened to 05rex8 and just drilled two small holes around the corner where the water was gathering. it hasnt fogged up yet.

There is a how-to make and install a better tail light gasket in the DIY section if you are out of warranty. No hole drilling required.

If you have standing water in your light, they will replace it under warranty. People with just condensation may run into "no thats not covered" crap

My dealership replaced both driver and passenger side without any questions. There are several posts about it...there might even be a recall out there.

dont mean to be personal or anything but which dealership like just a straight mazda dealer or something else too. cause the only one within 10 miles of me is a Chevy dealer but they have a small mazda section and they have been pretty good at everything else but they wont even talk to me about this tail light.

i had standing water in mine and i just got a new gasket off of finishlineperformance.com. i drained all the water out and switched the gasket out and its as good as new except the reflective film came off a bit inside from the water. if you only drilled holes, the water is still gonna get in and mess up the inside.

I just sucked it up and bought a new gasket from the dealer for $60 freakin' bucks. It's now fixed but, unfortunately I have water spots inside the cover...wtf!? So irritating!

one of the dealers here told me that same price. i told them i seen them online for around $35 and they said to bring them a printout and they'd match it. i just said screw that and ordered them online. go to finishlineperformance.com to pick some up. if you also look at the TSB, if there is water spotting inside the lense the dealer is supposed to replace the whole assembly under warranty. if you're out of warranty you're kinda screwed.

from inside your trunk, pry back the carpet liner in the corner. disconnect the bulbs and sockets. then just remove the 2 nuts holding it in. be careful not to drop it. make sure to get all the moisture out and swap the gaskets. should be fine after that. i have more pics if anyone is interested in the process.
