Odd brake feel, brake and abs lights

Good evening everyone,

When driving earlier today, shortly after I got off the highway I noticed that the red brake light and the abs lights were on. The brakes felt completely normal, were firm with no pedal sinking when at a stop. I made sure the parking brake was off, checked the fluid level (just below the max line, normal light yellow color, flushed and replaced about a year ago,), but the lights remained on until I restarted the car. Then when driving, occasionally there was a slight bit of pulsation through the pedal, similar to abs but softer than typical. This happened only twice over probably 15 stops, and was just as I came to a stop < 3 mph. The road was dry and these were normal stops in traffic, nowhere near aggressively enough to trigger abs.

The lights didn't come on again, but once I got home I checked the fluid level (it looked unchanged) and inside of the wheels (they were dry). So... I'm confused, I thought the red "brake" light only came on for the parking brake or low fluid level, and if there was an abs problem it would just illuminate the abs light.

For reference this is an S2 sport, no traction control.

A similar thing happened today, going to work the brake and abs lights were on the entire time, but the brakes felt completely normal with none of the ABS like stuttering despite it being very rainy. On the way home they were off, but turned on within a few minutes and stayed on until I stopped for gas. At this stop I also checked the brake fluid level again (it was fine), that the float in the brake reservoir was floating etc (it was), and that the connector looked fine and wasn't dirty or corroded (it wasn't). Restarting the car after filing the tank, the lights stayed off for the rest of the trip home but the stuttering when coming to a stop seemed to return sometimes (lights stayed off).

When I get time I'll check the parking brake and reservoir switches for continuity, bit I don't see how that would affect the stuttering?

Two more things to add - the center brake light bulb was burned out but replacing that didn't seem to have an effect on the abs and brake lights, and I finally found the Forscan adaptor that I misplaced a few years ago so I could look at the abs module code - the only one stored is for the right rear wheel speed sensor so a new sensor is ordered and should be here in a few days or so.
