Exclamation New KEY Fob or Switchblade Button Modules

There have been a few RX-8 owners who have been burnt buying new replacement Keys, particularly the Key Button Module for the Switchblade Type Key.

Some sellers like on eBay have a detailed Model Year listing to choose from.

Just be aware that ONLY Series II, that is from 2009 MY ~ will work.

Yes, they may look the same but they are not internally.

There is also a difference between countries, US have a red panic button, Australia and others do not...UK is also different.

So buyer be aware, some sites offer a reference code to the Button Module (near Key Module Battery) , make sure you are receiving the exact same unit.

The silver Switchblade Key part itself are all the same for S2 Series.

Keep in mind that virtually ALL Control Modules (which are Electric/Electronic) are different for the Series II's and will not fit or work if you purchase 04-08 S1 parts, like ECU, Air Bag Modules, Immobilizer Modules, Speedo's, LED Console readout, Power Steering ECU and Headlight Leveling units.

ALL Series II exclusive.

Advance Key-less Entry/Start (AKE) are different again and AFAIK only available Genuine from a Mazda Dealer.
