2009 AKE Door Latch Switch

Needing some guidance. 2009 GT with AKE. Passenger side door latch switch works fine. Trunk switch works fine. Keyless ignition works fine. Remote works fine to unlock/lock/pop the trunk. The issue is when i press the Drivers side door button, it sometimes works sometimes doesn't. The rubber portion broke about 8 months ago, essentially is just a rubber flap over the switch but has worked fine till this past weekend.

Logic flows like this:

No problem with system as whole: (3 out of 4 keyless work correctly)
No problem with keycard remote: (3 out of 4 keyless work correctly)
Don't think problem with driver side door receiver: Door will unlock when I press the unlock button. Sometimes will work when I press door latch switch.

Could this just be a momentary switch replacement? Or is it all tied into the receiver module which has to be programmed by dealership?

Called dealership, they want $120 for diagnostics before giving possible quotes on repair.

I'd say go ahead and replace that worn out switch and then test from there. The switch is about $30-$35 by itself. Then if that doesn't fix it maybe think about getting it diagnosed.

Maybe you can do it yourself?

FE87-59-4B1A should be the part number but please verify.

Thanks for the part number. Will stop by dealership down the road and see if I can get it replaced tonight.

I'm pretty sure (almost 100%) they won't have it in stock. It's not a common item for sure.

You were correct, they didn't have it in stock, however could get it here by 1 today. At 11 they called it was in. $39.01 later and here is what I have. May try to do a DIY on this.

Besides the fact this is a royal PITA? There's a reason this costs so much at the dealership. Pull off all interior trim, pull out window glass, speakers, power window motor, track, inner liner. Then you get to start dealing with bolts you can barely reach. I never figured out how the wire was routed so ended up cutting the wire to get the handle out. While doing the last step, this happened. Took off part of a nail and the attached skin. Have worked on this for two evenings, finally can see the home stretch. Will upload a few pics when done, but ended up not taking enough to do a DIY.
