Just to confirm, is anyone else having these problems with the latest nightly?

Which firmware? I haven't had any time at all to play with this lately. Today I have plenty.

I'm going to try the newest tonight. I asked to use the shipping firmware, but I didn't get anything. I hope the wire didn't break again.

I can go back to RxDuino_7_19_2012_06_04_pm.hex and all works. I'll be interested if you have the same issues.

I'm also having display issues with 8_20 nightly (flicker).

On a different note I saw in the other thread that you were able to log the ecu data.
Is there a way to do that that with rxd yet? I'd love to do that at the track this weekend.

thanks for the response mike. So you are getting a flicker, but is there any data being displayed (like rpm data or any other engine data)?

As far as logging data no, not yet.

I see what you mean about the buttons, they def do take longer than usual to register on this new firmware. I will investigate.

Edit: RxDuino_8_21_2012_08_30_pm.hex , should fix the button delays.

Okay, I have done some more looking and testing using the 8/21 build. I have uploaded two log files in the zip. Let's talk about log.

You have to press the CC buttons longer to get a response from RXD. Maybe not a bad thing. With that though, the up and down button don't seem to control the menu outside of the ECU monitor. Once you are out of the ECU, you have to use the cancel button to advance to the next screen. And, that caused me to get stuck on the Clock Adjust screen and reset it without being able to get out of it.

I am still having an issue with the blank screen. If I plug the RXD in and start the car, I get nothing. If I have the car on and unplug and plug back in the RXD, all shows up. I added a break point for plugging in and unplugging and plugging back in. Here are the steps I did:

Disconnect RXD from car
Disconnect RXD from console
Connect RXD in to car
Connect RXD in to console
Start console
Turn car on
BLANK DISPLAY
!BREAK!
Disconnect RXD from car
Disconnect RXD from console
Connect RXD in to car
Connect RXD in to console
!BREAK!

Let me know what other testing I can do for you.

Ok this one is for radio only people. I am very curious to see if this makes any difference in things like the sat button, bluetooth, etc. I believe this will help the cruise buttons as well. Non oem radio people will see nothing displayed so there is no need for people without the oem radio to update to this one.

Anyone get around to testing the radio-only firmware?

Looks about the same as a previous nightly - maybe slightly slower rate of flicker between radio and rxd displays.

Damn. A friend of mine bought an 08 GLi (I had an 07 Fahrenheit GLi) and we've been hanging out so much in his car, I haven't had a chance at ALL to play with the device.

Going to do a whole wiring project, and will be finding a good mounting place for this thing this weekend - even put Windows on my MacBook Pro so I can flash firmware in my car. LOL

Better, but like I said it's hard to tell for sure...
Don't have BT or XM on mine.

Ok cool, I am hoping that the latest change retains bluetooth / XM. Hoping someone can chime in before I make more changes.

I just might plug my OEM radio in tonight so you can get some feedback. I'm ready to move on to the other fixes.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

I thought this was for non-OEM guys anyways.

fyi guys I didn't disappear, been working a lot of fixes behind the scenes for the non-radio guys. I found the address where the clock can explicitly be set, and set to military time if needed as well. Now I need to figure out the algorithm to take a human readable time to hex values. stay tuned.
