Why Haltech Standalone?
Can this not be done using the original ECU with MazdaEdit or Versatune?

No me gusta como quedo abajo la turbina. utilizare el header greddy y lo modificare para montar la turbina frente al motor. pronto nuevas fotos.

Man that is tight, what are you ding about the engine mount bracket?

gamaliel31 05-02-2015 08:52 AM

I think i am the first to do that with greddy parts

Brettus 05-02-2015 04:41 PM

Don't understand why you are doing that? It's going to kill boost response . Couldn't you get the 3071 to fit direct to the manifold ?

9krpmrx8 05-02-2015 07:47 PM

I'm not sure where this is going.

gamaliel31 05-02-2015 07:50 PM

Because more easy to work with the turbo and when i open and rebuilt with new power seal, porting the engine i am goint to install a biger turbo to reach 450rwhp @15psi

9krpmrx8 05-02-2015 07:51 PM

What did you make on the other setup? Did you blow the engine?

Brettus 05-02-2015 07:52 PM

You would be better to make a new manifold for that, than to use the Greddy one IMO

Coming soon when I finish to pay my car loan lol.

For now I invent with greddy manifold. Now I can change the GT30 with the measures I want with out space problem

gamaliel31 05-02-2015 08:09 PM

new set up

But all new pipe are 2 1/2 with porting and manifold greddy are porting to.

Will be interested to hear how it affects spoolup .... I think it's going to make it pretty unresponsive .

gamaliel31 05-04-2015 10:58 AM

yes affected, but no problem i have external wastegate.

@gamaliel31 why you turn top mount turbo set up bro ? low mount set up throttle response is better than it isn't it ?

TeamRX8 05-07-2015 10:17 AM

wait, you used a fubar Greddy exhaust manifold to make a top/front mount manifold?

I have now truely seen it all ...

Yes, low mount better response, top mount, more space to make changes, in addition I prepare to mount a bigger turbo then. Throttle response 500rpm is the difference

Team, it has been done before. It never ran but it was done,

TeamRX8 05-07-2015 05:59 PM

You can make a proper top mount manifold about as easy as converting a Greddy manifold.

wow, just wow ....

Top mounting a stock greddy turbo ?? Take the only good thing about a greddy setup (response) and destroy it . Great idea

TeamRX8 05-07-2015 07:39 PM

Just as bad or worse for a larger turbo since that manifold design is very restrictive

Yes, works well. The boost begins to 4,800. I am Waiting for electronic selenoid to control boost with my Haltech. Then dyno and tune at 9psi.
Find me on facebook Gamaliel Galan. I have videos and first turn on and first run with out tune and wastegate probleme.

Positive changes. The car feels lighter. Passenger side is not so hot. Respond more quickly without a good tune.

You added more weight in front of the engine but the car feels lighter? And yeah that is a standard Mac valve.

I guess it does make your high hp goals more achievable , but i think you will miss the response you had for around town drivability.

For now daily drive no big change. My car not miss response, but my boost turn 500 rpm more later with better displacement and G force. For now my 8 have 7psi with manual boost controller.

thunderberk 05-20-2015 07:34 PM

so oil pan modification not need now ? i prefer hood modification for overheating issues. Do you have any videos how it spools ?

Overheating issue. My 8 run 170f to 180f no issue. Haltech ecu control my fans. I can do whatever I want with them. Hood modification I think is possible then.

Attachment 219398

I need oil pan modification because I have stock greddy manifold.
Video coming soon
