So I take it that these are hard to come by?

Should I be afraid to even ask how much they are?

I really think these may be the best looking wheels I have seen for the RX-8. Since they are SSR's, I should be safe in assuming they are fairly light, correct?

They come in 18inch and even 17inch.. how bout if their hub centered?
Well I know the SF-Challenge comes in 18 because I ordered them in 18x9, but I won't know how much they weigh for a while because they're not due to arrive for another 2 to 3 months or so. But I'd bet on saving a couple pounds over stock (this is mdawgx24 by the way, sorry if confusing).

The 18s aren't much cheaper than the 19s, probably because they are also 2-piece.

If they make them in 17, then that's new.

+41 in the front, +42 in the rear. It'll have about a 1 1/2 inch lip in the front, and slightly more than 2" lip in the rear.

The SSRs come in black, silver, hyper black and white... They are light for 19" wheels, 20.5 for the 19x8.5 and 21.5 for the 19x9.5; for the RX8 they are a special order so 10-12 weeks for delivery and they cost 2,600.00...

Damn, I knew they wouldn't be cheap.

Where did you order them from? Doesn't Tire Rack carry SSR's?

What, if any, difference is there between the "SP1" and "SP1s"?

It looks like Tire Rack does carry the SP1, but not the SP1s.

Edit: perhaps there is no such thing, you were just using the plural of SP1?

Ok, they just started listing that one and they do not have it available in custom sizes... They offer it in 7.5 and 9.0" sizes...

Mine are 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 with custom offsets and lip depth, if you want them custom made you have to go elsewhere...

I noticed that as well.

What I really don't understand is why they go from 7.5 and jump all the way to 9.0 without anything in between!?

If you had to choose between 7.5 and 9.0 (I don't think I will be going staggered) should I go with the 9.0?

I don't like the wheels with the bolts/studs around the rim. Looks very ricey.

Three/two piece wheels have been around for a while and as long as the bolts are functional they are not ricey...

Exactly!

cortc-

If you had to choose between 7.5 and 9.0 (I don't think I will be going staggered) which would be the better choice?

I will probably stay with 225 rubber (certainly not wider than 245 anyway).

Rob: If I was going to do the same f/r I would do the 9" with the 245s... But don't get the SP1s they don't look good on the RX8...

Thanks.

I agree that the SP1s look like complete crap on the RX-8, and nobody else should consider purchasing them for this car! That being said, I might buy them for my 8 as a favor to others on this forum to show them just how "sick" they really look.

In all seriousness, I am 90% sure these are the wheels I will be getting. Will probably go with the Silver on the Velocity Red 8 though.
