hey guys, sorry if this might seem like a repost but i just can't seem to find any good info that would help me pick a new tires. I put about 22k on my stock dunlops. I was kind of looking at either the michelin ps2 or the toyo t1r. But the problem is that i've been reading that the michelin ps2's aren't that great of a tire overall. as for teh toyo t1r, which i realllyyyyy want, the problem is the treadwear. i heard that people are only getting about 10k on them.

so i think i am just gonna give you guys some aspects that i am looking for and hopefully you guys can help me out. no flaming please i've tried searching but i've gone no where.

i want some good treadwear. somewehre around 15-20k miles on them.
i want pretty good grip
and i do want a somewhat stiff sidewall since i canyon drive once in a while.
cost doesn't really matter because my mom is willing to even pay 1k for them.

You need to understand tire sizes and treadwear ratings before you make decisions. Basically the zR is the speed rating, the 35 and 40 are the height of the sidewall, and the 17 is the size of the rims. Most people here on 18" rims run something like 225/45/18 or widen the tire and shorten the sidewall to 245/40/18.
If you are on 17" rims, 35 is a shorter sidewall. 225-245 is the width in mm's.

The treadwear rating on Toyo T1R (or any of the tires you mentioned) is higher than the stock Bridgestones. If you got 22k miles on the Bridgestones, you should have no problem getting at least that on the Toyo.

Also, in your budget you need to include a full 4 wheel align. Skipping that will wear your tires a lot faster.

Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 beats them all performance wise wet or dry and will get the wear you want
