are winter tires worth it?

i live in ohio, and i don't have the luxury of owning a second car to drive around in the winter. i put salt bags and other heavy things in the back of my car in the cold months, but i'm just curious if winter tires will make any difference at all.

thanks!

They are totally worth it. Take the weight out, snow tires on and rock it. I've been through 3 winters. most go with 17 inch rims, i decided to put them on my stock 18's so I'm still lookin' good year round.

They will make a huge difference. Blizzacks are what I have. Night and day difference.

100 percent yes. Just run a search from about 6 months ago and check out all of the horror stories of people without them. Winters were the first things I bought for my car.

I've heard good things about the Continental DWS, and many others, but the TIRERACK can be helpful with driver reviews.

Driving on ice or snow without them is simply not an option. They transform the car from dangerous to a capable winter handler.
