NC Trouble with Rear Tires

We have 2 2004 RX-8s. On the GT, we cannot keep tires on the rear of it. The tires wear badly on the inside to the point that the outside edge looks almost new and the inside edge shows steel. We are running Cooper tires on it. Is the problem with the tire or do I have a mechanical problem or what? We are only getting about 12,000 miles on the rear tires.

Try rotating and balancing your tires. Plus, get an alignment too when your at it.

Rotating/balancing tires is not the solution to camber/toe wear -__- . Shut up, monchie.

OP. Get your four wheel alignment done. Usually toe-outs would cause more inner tread wear, but the rear naturally has toe-in. With that said, it is most likely negative camber wear.

You are always absolutely right. I have no further questions your honor.

My 07 GT 6spd auto wore my first tire set Kumho SPT's at twice as fast in the rear, and I got about 20k miles by rotating.

I put a set of Hankook Ventus V12 on, and ALIGNED for the track: -1.7 front camber, slight toe out, -1.65 rear camber, slight toe in with me sitting in the car.

At 7k miles now, all tires are close to even, and maybe the inside fronts have the most wear which they should after about 3 track days.

Explanation? Many 8's have over -2 camber in the rear if they haven't been aligned, and everytime I'd go around a corner the rears would slip setting off the traction control (even on my auto).

Straighten your rears up, and it'll solve what you asked.
